WELCOME TO MAXX2RACING (M2)

The Royal Purple ’99 Firebird Pro Touring-LSR Race Car

Our 'stunning' example of a Late Model Car, painted in Axalta 'Brilliant Black'

Street Legal, 200 MPH, and in comfort

This ‘Build’ is dedicated to the home shop builder, the gals and guys who have a passion for car building, not just buying that special car they have always dreamed of. You can build that dream car on a set budget, using only the best parts available from the aftermarket industry.

Follow along with details and pictures from the beginning to the completion of this special car. We chose a late model car for its updated technology, but this applies to any age car you might decide upon.

Similar to our first ‘Build’, our ’69 El Camino, the Firebird would be called  ‘Pro Touring-Pro Street’ to most, however, the capability of 200 MPH speeds at Land Speed Racing events takes it to a different level

Many attendees expressed their opinions as to what the car represents to them, many flatly stated-

“The car looks menacing” , “Mean”, “Gnarly”

That tells one we are on the right path to achieving the status that we are seeking

Photo of the car on the lift . Tony (Taylor) with his professional skills in painting ‘high end cars’, has produced a ‘stunning’ example of a late model Pro Touring, street legal, high performance car. Tony owns CMF Fabrication in Fallon, NV, and with his background in machine work, and welding, has contributed heavily to this build

We removed every bolt, nut, and washer on the entire suspension system, and replaced them with American Made 10.9 Cad Plated Hardware. We had cleaned the original hardware until we found a sponsor on these items, with Renner Equipment, a Northern Nevada John Deere dealer coming on board to provide these items. On the body bolts and misc. hardware, R& E Fasteners provided those earlier in the build

The Royal Purple ‘stealth logos’, referred to as ‘die cut’, were provided by Royal Purple, with Graphics Unlimited of Sparks, NV doing the installation

***A 'Sea Of Red' Awaits Anyone Who Opens The Hood On The Car***

The car was stripped of its interior, the motor and trans were pulled, including all wiring, brake lines, windshield removed, any panel that was removable was pulled,  the car was then degreased and pressure washed inside and out

The front support member above the radiator was cut for easy access to work on, install, or remove the motor from the car. Additionally, you will note the area cut below the windshield. This is for easy access to the CD/Digital Ignition System, otherwise, it would be nearly impossible to work on or remove the distributor itself
